Every enzyme lists a concentration in units per microliter and an explicit definition of what one unit does: the substrate, the buffer, the temperature, and the incubation time. This matters more than it sounds, two vendors' "10 U/µL" are not interchangeable unless the unit definitions match, and the difference shows up as a failed digest at the bench, not on the invoice. The supplied reaction buffer, storage temperature, thermostability, and hot-start behavior are all stated up front and filterable below.
Competent cells are released against a measured transformation efficiency in cfu/µg of supercoiled control plasmid, with the genotype printed in full. Ladders list the band sizes and the mass loaded per band, so you can quantify off the gel instead of guessing.
Enzymes ship on dry ice or cold packs and are specified for −20 °C storage unless the datasheet says otherwise.
