Cell culture media

Classical formulations, DMEM, RPMI-1640, MEM, Ham's F-12 and their variants, alongside the specialty and serum-free media, balanced salt solutions, dissociation reagents, sera, supplements, and selection antibiotics that surround them in a real culture room.

Four variables change an experiment more than anything else on a media label: glucose loading, sodium bicarbonate (which has to match your incubator's CO₂ set point), whether phenol red is present, and how L-glutamine is supplied, free, absent, or as a stable dipeptide. All four are stated on every formulation and are filterable in the rail below, so you can pick a bicarbonate level for a 5% CO₂ incubator without opening ten product pages.

Liquid media are made in high-purity water, adjusted to a specified pH, verified for osmolality, and sterile-filtered; the filter rating, sterility test, endotoxin limit, and shelf life are on each datasheet. Where a formulation has been screened for mycoplasma, that is recorded on the product page rather than implied.

Most media ship 2–8 °C on cold packs. Sera and supplements ship frozen, check the cold-chain class on the product page before you schedule a delivery.
