Formulation
Sodium chloride supplies most of the salt content; potassium chloride and the phosphate pair complete the buffered saline base. Calcium and magnesium distinguish this formulation from divalent-ion-free DPBS. Select the variant specified by the experimental procedure, particularly when chelators or cell-dissociation reagents are involved.
This solution is a handling buffer rather than a complete growth medium. It does not supply the nutrients needed for sustained cell expansion. The nominal ingredient quantities and chemical forms are listed in the ingredient table.
